Fulham head coach Marco Silva has heaped praise on Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi for his performance in his side’s 3-1 win over Sunderland, Afrik Foot reports.
The former Arsenal man was involved in two of the Cottagers’ three goals at the Stadium of Light, setting up the opener for Raul Jimenez’s opener from a corner kick.
Iwobi then found the back of the net in the 85th minute, scoring the game’s third goal in the 85th minute, dinking the ball over Robin Roefs after a brilliant Harry Wilson pass.

Marco Silva lauds Alex Iwobi in Fulham win
After the game, Iwobi revealed he was working on transitions with Harry Wilson in training, and the decision paid off on the pitch against Sunderland.
“I mean, yes. When H [Harry Wilson] was with the ball, we had Oscar bombing up the pitch, and somehow I was up there,” the Super Eagles star said in an interview with Sky Sports.
“We’ve been working on this in training, and Harry had the composure to find me, so I saw the way the keeper was positioned.
“The only way I could get the ball in was to lift it over his foot, so credit to Harry and then to us for getting the three points,” the former Everton man concluded.

Fulham boss Marco Silva described Iwobi’s goal as ‘top’, while singling out his importance in the Cottagers setup.
“We handled the pressure really well, even if the Stadium was buzzing. They didn’t create any chance, even until our third goal.
“We scored the third goal in an incredible counterattack. Everything Harry Wilson did until then, alongside the pass, was brilliant.
“Of course, what a finish from Alex [Iwobi]. Top finish from Alex. We won the fight even if they made life difficult for us,” the Portuguese manager said in an interview with West London Sport.
