Galatasaray reach 3 new agreements with Victor Osimhen wanted by Madrid, Barcelona

Galatasaray are working to protect their biggest investment after striking a series of creative agreements around Victor Osimhen, Afrik-Foot reports.

These creative contracts are believed to be designed to keep the Nigerian striker in Istanbul beyond the summer, even as interest grows from Europe’s elite.

The Turkish champions completed Osimhen’s permanent signing from SSC Napoli in July 2025 in a deal worth €75 million, structured carefully to meet financial regulations. An upfront €40 million payment was followed by €35 million in instalments, while Napoli secured a 10% sell-on clause and inserted a restriction preventing a return to Italy for two years.

The Super Eagles forward then signed a four-year contract until June 2029, worth a reported €21 million annually, including bonuses and image rights.

That figure, however, has been at the centre of Galatasaray’s latest strategy. Speaking on the 343 Digital YouTube channel as per Habersarikirmizi, Turkish football insider Haluk Yürekli outlined how the club has reshaped the financial burden through commercial deals.

“Victor Osimhen will earn Galatasaray 6 million euros by appearing in 3 commercials. The agreements have been made. One is with Pasifik, one of Galatasaray’s sponsors. Another is with the company undertaking Galatasaray’s Florya project. There’s one more. With these commercials, Galatasaray has reduced Osimhen’s salary from 21 million euros to 15 million euros.”

He added: “Galatasaray has one more advertising deal remaining. Negotiations are underway for that as well. Since Galatasaray has also purchased Victor Osimhen’s image rights, they will reduce their (salary) cost from 21 million euros to around 13 million Euros by having him appear in 4 advertisements per year.”

These agreements, alongside merchandise drives and strong backing from local sponsors, point to a wider plan to keep the Nigerian forward at the heart of the club’s sporting and commercial future.

Osimhen: Real Madrid and Barcelona still circling

Despite those efforts, Osimhen’s performances continue to attract attention from Spain, with both Real Madrid and Barcelona monitoring him as a major target for summer 2026.

Madrid’s interest is shaped by a tactical need. Since the departure of Karim Benzema, the club have lacked a recognised central striker. Osimhen would offer a classic number nine profile, potentially allowing Kylian Mbappé to operate from his preferred left-sided role.

Yet questions remain about how he would fit into an already crowded attack featuring Vinícius Júnior, with competition for places likely to be intense. Still, the former European champions are expected to send scouts to watch Osimhen in Galatasaray’s Intercontinental derby with Fenerbahçe this weekend.

Meanwhile, Barcelona’s motivation is more long-term. With Robert Lewandowski approaching 38 in August, the Catalan club are searching for a successor to lead the line. Osimhen’s pace, pressing and penalty-box instincts make him an attractive option, and he could step straight into a starting role.

The challenge for both Real Madrid and Barcelona is significant. Galatasaray would demand well over €100 million to consider a sale, while Osimhen’s current €21 million yearly earnings present a major obstacle under La Liga’s strict wage controls.

Still, Galatasaray are making their stand clear that they are building a team around Osimhen as well as an entire financial model designed to keep him.
