Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has provided an update on his future at Scottish champions Celtic ahead of the summer transfer window, Afrik-Foot reports.
The 29-year-old joined the Hoops last summer on a one-year deal after leaving Spanish side Sevilla when his contract expired. He had struggled to make an impact during his early days in Spain and was later loaned to English Championship side Middlesbrough for the second half of the season.
Since moving to Scotland, he has rediscovered his form and has become an important figure for Celtic, particularly in their resurgent run in recent weeks.
The Nigerian forward made headlines once again on Wednesday night after scoring a dramatic 99th-minute penalty in Celtic’s 3-2 victory over Motherwell, which sent the Scottish Premiership title race to the final day.

Iheanacho has now directly contributed to eight points for Celtic as a substitute this season and he also scored a crucial brace that helped the club reach the Scottish Cup final, when they defeated St Mirren 6-2 in the semifinals.
Kelechi Iheanacho await Celtic decision on future
Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho arrived at Celtic on an initial one-year deal under former head coach Brendan Rodgers last summer. He was off to a bright start, but different injury setbacks throughout the season disrupted his momentum and raised questions about his long-term role at the club.

Celtic, however, still hold an option to extend his contract by another year and recent performances have strengthened the chances of a possible extension, with the Nigerian forward showing fine form in recent outings.
However, Iheanacho insists his immediate focus remains on Celtic’s decisive fixtures, with contract talks to follow afterwards.
“I think after 90 minutes on Saturday, then we’ll talk about that”, the Super Eagles forward said, via Daily Record.

Iheanacho’s attention will now be on Celtic’s title-deciding match against leaders Hearts at Celtic Park on Saturday, where a victory would secure a fifth consecutive Scottish Premiership title.
The Hoops will also face Dunfermline Athletic in the Scottish Cup final on May 23, with a domestic double still within reach.
