Inter Milan transfer: How much Akinsanmiro could cost Bologna, Bremen and others

Published on by

Italian champions Inter Milan have made a major decision regarding the future of Super Eagles midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro ahead of the summer transfer window, Afrik-Foot reports.

Akinsanmiro’s future has been uncertain in recent days, with doubts over whether he will remain at Inter next season or secure another move away from the club.

The youngster joined Inter Milan in 2023 after leaving Nigeria, but has spent the last two seasons away on loan. He featured for Sampdoria during the 2024-25 campaign before spending the 2025-26 season at Pisa.

He made 24 appearances across all competitions last season and impressed during his time at Pisa. The club had an option to make the deal permanent, although Inter also included a buy-back clause in the agreement.

It initially appeared that the Towers would activate the €7.5 million purchase option after an impressive spell from the Super Eagles midfielder. However, they decided against triggering the clause, allowing the Nigerian midfielder to return to Inter, where a major decision now awaits over his long-term future.

According to reports in Italy, Inter Milan are hoping to receive a fee in the region of €10 million for Akinsanmiro this summer, with several clubs showing interest in the Super Eagles star.

The 21-year-old is expected to assess the options available to him as he considers a potential permanent move elsewhere, having struggled to establish himself in Inter’s first team since arriving at the club.

Since joining the Nerazzurri in 2023, Akinsanmiro has made only one senior appearance, spending most of his time with the club’s youth side and also out on loan.

The Nigerian midfielder has already attracted interest from clubs in both Italy and Germany and Inter’s reported €10 million asking price should be relatively affordable for interested clubs.

Where could Akinsanmiro end up this summer?

Akinsanmiro faces an important decision over his future this summer. While he could remain at Inter Milan and fight for a place in the squad, a permanent move elsewhere is also becoming an increasingly realistic possibility.

A strong pre-season under new head coach Cristian Chivu could prove to be a turning point in his career and potentially earn him a more prominent role in the team next season.

However, with interest in his services continuing to grow, Inter Milan could also decide to cash in on the midfielder this summer.

Serie A rivals Bologna currently lead the race and are keen to sign Akinsanmiro as part of a major squad rebuild ahead of next season. The Rossoblu are hoping to challenge for European qualification again and view the Nigerian as a potential addition to strengthen their midfield options.

Bologna explored a possible move even while Pisa still had the option to make Akinsanmiro’s loan permanent and with a clear path to his signature, they could become more active in their efforts to beat other suitors to his signature.

The 21-year-old has also attracted interest from the Bundesliga, with Werder Bremen and Borussia Mönchengladbach reportedly monitoring his situation ahead of the summer window.

A move to Germany would offer him a fresh environment after several years in Italian football and could provide the platform he needs to develop further and continue his trajectory.

Akinsanmiro will now consider his options carefully, with regular playing time expected to be a major factor as he looks to take the next step in his career.
