Former England and Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe has spoken about his dressing room experience with ex-Super Eagles defender Danny Shittu, Afrik Foot reports.
Shittu and Defoe came through the ranks at Charlton Athletic’s academy before the Englishman moved on to West Ham United, while Shittu broke into Charlton’s first team.
Shittu, 45, represented the Super Eagles on 33 occasions, playing in the 2008 & 2010 AFCON tournaments, and the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Jermain Defoe shares Danny Shittu dressing room experience
The former Rangers man revealed how intimidating Shittu used to be in the dressing room.
“Danny Shittu, he’s the toughest defender in the EFL Championship,” the 43-year-old said on Sky Bet.
“He scared me one time, when I was in the tunnel. He tried to rile me up.

“In my youth team days, when I left Charlton to join West Ham United, there were no tunnels, you just walked straight from the dressing room onto the pitch.
“He was eyeing me up, and I thought. Is this guy alright? Making all sorts of noises.
“He was making all sorts of noises and I looked up to him, he’s huge as well,” Defoe concluded.
