Lazio: Dele-Bashiru set for huge bonus tied to one key condition

Super Eagles and Lazio midfielder Fisayo Ayodele-Bashiru could be set for a huge bonus after his side qualified for the Coppa Italia semi-final, Afrik Foot reports.

The 25-year-old played 90 minutes at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara and was a pivotal figure as he provided the assist for Tijjanni Noslin’s equaliser after Santiago Castro had given the home side the lead.

Both sides couldn’t be separated in normal time, and the game was decided on penalties. Lazio’s goalkeeper Ivan Provedel came up trumps, denying Bologna twice from twelve yards to send them into the Coppa Italia final four.

The victory against Bologna last night brings Maurizio Sarri’s men a step closer to lifting the Coppa Italia.

They’ll battle Atalanta on the 4th of March, while Inter Milan take on Cesc Fabregas’ Como in the second semi-final game.

Lazio’s President Claudio Lotito has now hammered on the players to give their all in the competition, particularly because it has been the most challenging period of his presidency since he acquired the club almost 22 years ago.

More than 40,000 fans have already signed a petition requesting the 68-year-old’s departure.

Still, the Italian senator remains unrelenting and is unwilling to relinquish his role at the club.

To get the players and the fans back on track, Lotito has already allocated a bonus of €2 million to be distributed among players if they win the Coppa Italia, as revealed by Il Messaggero.

Lazio have never failed to qualify for Europe twice in a row under Lotito’s ownership, and the President is keen on keeping things that way.

Maurizio Sarri’s men are currently 8th on the Serie A table, eight points behind 6th-placed Como.

As such, the Biancocelesti’s chances of qualifying for European football through their league standing remain slim.
