Hull City and Manchester United are set to lock horns in a 2026/2027 English Premier League curtain-raiser for both sides, Afrik-Foot reports.

Hull’s MKM Stadium is set to witness English top-flight action for the first time since they were relegated from the Premier League in the 2016/2017 season.

Super Eagles centre-back Semi Ajayi was also relegated from the Premier League with West Bromwich Albion in 2021. He spent another four years with the Baggies before he was let go in 2025 over multiple hamstring injuries.

Ajayi dusted himself up, joined Hull City, and proved his old employers wrong by sending the Tigers to the Premier League via the play-offs.

Manchester United finished third in the English Premier League last season, rekindling their flames after Michael Carrick was appointed to replace Ruben Amorim at the Old Trafford dugout.

They’ve spent money to replenish their squad over the summer, bringing Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa and Andey Santos from Chelsea, with Carlos Baleba believed to be on his way from Brighton and Hove Albion.
