Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has been linked with a transfer away from Udinese following a brilliant campaign, Afrik-Foot reports.
Last season, the 26-year-old kept ten clean sheets in 30 appearances. It was his best campaign since the 2020/21 season, and he was arguably Udinese’s most valuable player.
He had some impressive performances, chief of which was a 3-0 win over AC Milan earlier this year, when he made top draw saves.
He also reclaimed his status as Nigeria’s number-one shot-stopper, capitalizing on Stanley Nwabali’s absence to deliver several standout performances.
As a result of this consistency, there has been significant speculation regarding Okoye’s future this summer.

Besiktas and Juventus were initially linked to the former Watford man, as both clubs sought to reinforce their goalkeeping departments.
However, neither has submitted a formal bid, and it appears both are now exploring other options this summer.
Why Besiktas and Juventus Are Moving Away from the Maduka Okoye Deal

Besiktas and Juventus were initially pursuing Maduka Okoye due to their desire to sign a top-tier first-choice goalkeeper.
However, both clubs have shifted their focus. Besiktas recently confirmed the signing of Alexander Nübel from Bayern Munich. Asides from domestic games, he has played in the Champions League. He also has a pretty stocked trophy cabinet that has the German Cup, Bundesliga, and Super Cup.
The 29-year-old German is considered one of the best shot-stoppers in Europe and was part of the national team setup for the World Cup. With the arrival of such an experienced, high-profile goalkeeper, a move to Istanbul is no longer on the table for Okoye.
The situation is similar at Juventus, who are pushing to sign Emiliano Martinez. The two clubs have been in contact over recent weeks, though they have yet to agree on a fee.

It is understood that Juventus are eager to finalize the deal. If successful, they will not need further reinforcements in goal, as they have already confirmed that Mattia Perin and Michele Di Gregorio will remain at the club.
For the time being, there is no concrete interest in Okoye. However, he still has two years remaining on his contract at Udinese. He will be looking to continue shining for his club. He is still young, so he could get a big transfer soon if he keeps performing well.
