Simon: Bad luck strikes again for Super Eagles star as Nantes circle Ligue 1 drain

Published on by , updated on

Nantes winger Moses Simon is set to miss the Canaries' Ligue 1 clash with Lens on Sunday with a heel injury.

The 29-year-old, who only recently underwent a medical procedure to remove a metal screw from his ankle, has been one of the few shining lights for the struggling side so far this season.

The Super Eagles winger reportedly picked up a heel injury during Tuesday’s training session at the Nantes training facility.

The 29-year-old Nigerian international has been in superb form this season, quickly cementing his place as one of Nantes’ most important players.

Despite the club’s struggles, Simon has remained a shining light, consistently delivering top performances in Ligue 1 with Antoine Kamboure's side.

Last weekend, even in Nantes’ heavy 7-1 defeat to Monaco, he still managed to provide an assist for their only goal.

His creativity, technical ability, and sharp movement continue to trouble opposition defences and give his team a fighting chance in their battle to avoid relegation.

Simon's absence a bad blow for Nantes

Undoubtedly Nantes’ best player this season, Simon has already registered five goals and a league-leading seven assists for the Yellow and Greens to buttress his importance to the team.

His contributions have been vital, making his potential absence against Lens a huge setback for the team.

With Simon being one of their main attacking threats, Nantes could struggle to create chances without him.

Facing a strong Lens side, his absence would be a big blow as they aim to turn their fortunes around and steer clear of the relegation zone.
