Former Nigeria youth international Funsho Bamgboye scored his first goal of the season for Turkish side Hatayspor in their 3-1 win over Gaziantep in the Turkish Super League.
Bamgboye, a member of Nigeria’s 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup-winning squad alongside Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze, netted his team’s second goal in the 35th minute.
Despite a late push by Gaziantep, Hatayspor held firm to secure the victory.
Bamgboye started the game on the bench but was subbed in after just 18 minutes, replacing Kamil Corekci.
He quickly made his presence felt, energizing the right flank and actively contributing to Hatayspor’s attacking plays.
Hatayspor, playing at home, opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Rui Pedro.
They continued pressing and were rewarded when Bamgboye doubled their lead, slotting in a goal from a Joelson Fernandes assist. Gaziantep pulled one back 10 minutes later through Deian Sorescu, ending the first half at 2-1.
In the dying moments of the game, Hatayspor sealed the win as Strandberg scored in the 94th minute, securing a comfortable 3-1 result.
