You are not going anywhere – Nigerian Afrobeat star reacts as Casemiro confirms Man United exit

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Adekunle Kosoko, popularly known as Adekunle Gold, has reacted to Casemiro’s confirmed Manchester United exit, Afrik Foot reports.

Casemiro, 33, joined Manchester United in 2022 on the back of a trophy-laden spell with Madrid, ending his time at the Santiago Bernabeu with a UEFA Champions League win against Liverpool.

The Brazilian penned a three-year deal with the Red Devils although the option to extend for another year was included in the contract.

Casemiro’s first season in the English Premier League was superb; he played 53 games and scored seven goals. Manchester United finished third in the league and won the Carabao Cup.

The following seasons under Erik Ten Hag and Ruben Amorim proved tough for the ex-FC Porto midfielder, as it did for the whole team.

However, the start of the 2025/2026 campaign saw the five-time UEFA Champions League winner reinvent himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe, despite his age.

Casemiro’s performances have been particularly highlighted in the Reds’ four-game winning streak under Michael Carrick, and many have now called for the midfielder to change his mind about leaving Old Trafford, including Adekunle Gold.

The Brazilian announced a few weeks ago that the club will not be renewing his contract at the end of the season, and as such, his four-year stint with Manchester United will end in May.

“Knowing when stages come to an end. Knowing when to say goodbye when you feel that you will be remembered and respected forever.

“Four months to give my all for this badge and for our goal. Eternal respect and affection for Manchester United and its wonderful fans. Forever Red Devil,” the three-time UEFA Super Cup winner wrote on his X page.

Manchester United fans are not having it, as they believe Casemiro still has at least one more year to give.

Adekunle Gold has always been vocal about his love for United, and was seen perplexed on social media several times during the club’s time of distress under Ruben Amorim.

Casemiro has scored five goals and provided two assists in 23 Premier League games for Manchester United this season.
