Nigerian star Asisat Oshoala has once again shown her support for Manchester United following their 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, Afrik Foot reports.

The former Barcelona FC star praised summer signing Bryan Mbeumo after his impressive performance in the club’s victory over Tottenham on Saturday.

The six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year drew attention from fans when, as always, she showed her support for the Manchester club, this time for the Cameroonian forward, whom she called “my neighbour”.

What Asisat Oshoala said about Mbuemo

Mbeumo capitalised on a well-delivered corner, calmly firing a first-time shot into the bottom-right corner.

Not long after this, Oshoala took to X (formerly Twitter) shortly after to hail the former Brentford FC forward.

“Neighbour” in this context suggests the closeness between Nigeria, Oshoala’s nationality, and Mbuemo’s country, Cameroon, separated by a diverse 1,975- to 2,100-kilometre border stretching from Lake Chad in the north to the Atlantic Ocean.

Manchester United star shines vs Tottenham

Manchester United secured a 2–0 win at Old Trafford after Tottenham were reduced to ten men when captain Cristian Romero received a straight red card in the 29th minute.

Nine minutes later, United converted a cleverly rehearsed set-piece, with Bruno Fernandes assisting Mbeumo, who finished from close range.

Fernandes later sealed the victory in the 81st minute with a composed back-post strike, boosting United’s points tally in the Premier League table.

Mbeumo’s goal marked his ninth English Premier League goal since joining United, six months after his transfer from the Gtech Community Stadium.
