Published on by

The summer transfer window in many parts of the world may be firmly shut, but the Nigerian transfer news never stops. For many Nigerian footballers, the focus has shifted from immediate moves to securing their long-term futures.

Calvin Bassey and Chidera Ejuke have emerged as two key cases to look at. Afrik-Foot brings some updates around the transfer market.

Nigerian Transfer News LIVE:

Calvin Bassey’s Situation At Fulham

Calvin Bassey’s Situation at Fulham remains a key one to watch. Just last week, he was linked with a transfer to Serie A champions Inter Milan. But nothing has emerged from that yet.

But what makes the speculation carry a bit of weight is the fact that Bassey contract will expire at the end of the season. And although there is the option for an extra year, it has not been triggered.

Bassey has been one of the best players at Fulham for the last two years, and with his quality, he will definitely have eyes on playing for a bigger club and achieving more. Perhaps, in January or next summer, he could be on his way to a bigger club.

Super Eagles winger Chidera Ejuke is also in a similar situation with Bassey. He is already in the final months of his contract at Sevilla.

In fact, he was supposed to be sold last summer and was linked to several clubs like Anderlecht, Sunderland, and some Saudi Arabian clubs. But the speculation did not materialize.

Now, with his contract at Sevilla set to expire at end of the season, it is left to be seen what happens next for the fleet-footed winger. By January, he will be free to negotiate with new clubs.
