In Lafia, it was the Suleiman Sani show as the youngster scored twice to give Akwa United a significant boost in their fight against relegation.

Sani opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with an instinctive finish from a cross by Ubong Friday, tormenting the Lobi Stars backline throughout the game.

Although Abubakar Aliyu scored a late goal for Lobi Stars, Akwa United held on for the crucial win.

At the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Rivers United secured a comprehensive 4-1 victory over Sporting Lagos.

Captain Nyima Nwagua put the home side ahead in the 27th minute, but Sporting Lagos equalized from the penalty spot through Tochukwu just before halftime.

In the early kickoff, Plateau United played out a goalless draw with Niger Tornadoes. In a match of few chances, Plateau United midfielder Sunday Anthony missed a penalty that would have given his side the lead.

The Minna-based team left Jos with a share of the spoils.

Remo Stars lose in five-goal spectacle

Remo Stars staged a remarkable comeback attempt but ultimately fell short in Ilorin as Kwara United secured a 3-2 victory.

The match kicked off in dramatic fashion with Wasiu Alalade scoring one of the fastest goals of the season in the very first minute.

Kwara United continued to dominate, and Isaiah Ejeh doubled their lead just before halftime, leaving Remo Stars with a significant challenge.

The situation worsened for Remo Stars when an Ahmed Akinyele own goal made it 3-0 for Kwara United early in the second half.

However, Remo Stars refused to give up and launched a spirited comeback. Togolese striker Franck Mavuena pulled one back, and Dare Ojo added another to set up a tense finish.

Despite their efforts, Kwara United held on to claim all three points.
