Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu continued his brilliant scoring run as Trabzonspor beat Çaykur Rizespor 1–0 in the Süper Lig, Afrik-Foot reports.
The tall Nigerian striker scored the only goal of the match early in the second half to give his side all three points.
The goal came six minutes after the restart when Oleksandr Zubkov delivered a smart cut-back into the penalty area. Onuachu reacted quickly and finished from close range.

It was another important moment in what has been an outstanding season for the 31-year-old.
His strike means he now has 23 goals and two assists in 26 appearances in all competitions this campaign, showing just how important he has become to Trabzonspor’s attack.
Onuachu has also been in remarkable form in the league. The goal against Rizespor means he has now scored in eight consecutive league matches. During that run, he found the net against Kasımpaşa, Antalyaspor, Samsunspor, Fenerbahçe, Gaziantep, Fatih Karagümrük and Kayserispor.

Paul Onuachu: Matching a long-standing Trabzonspor record
By scoring in eight straight league matches, Onuachu has matched a feat last achieved by Burak Yılmaz for Trabzonspor back in 2011. Yılmaz scored in 11 consecutive games during that remarkable run.
The Nigerian forward now has 21 league goals this season, and he is closing in on another club milestone.
The record for the most league goals by a foreign player in a single Süper Lig season for Trabzonspor is held by Georgian legend Shota Arveladze, who scored 25 goals during the 1995–96 campaign. With the way Onuachu is scoring, that record could soon be under threat.

After the match, the striker dedicated the victory to Trabzonspor assistant coach Orhan Kaynak, who sadly died earlier in the week after suffering a heart attack.
Onuachu said: “This victory was for our coach Orhan Kaynak and his family. We’re happy to have won it for him.”
Trabzonspor will now turn their attention to their next league game away at the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Stadium in Istanbul, where they will face Eyüpspor on Wednesday.
