Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan has voiced frustration over the handling of Paul Onuachu's transfer negotiations with Southampton.
Onuachu enjoyed a successful loan spell at Trabzonspor last season, netting 17 goals and registering four assists in 25 appearances.
His impressive performances led the Turkish side to pursue a permanent transfer, eager to retain the towering striker. However, despite their efforts, Southampton remained firm in their stance and did not agree to a deal.

In a recent statement, Dogan revealed the ongoing back-and-forth with the English club, highlighting the significant increase in Southampton’s asking price for the Nigerian forward, ultimately leaving the Turkish club unable to secure the deal on their terms.
Trabzonspor President reveals frustrations over Onuachu’s failed transfer
Ahead of the closing of the winter transfer window, Dogan expressed his frustrations over the club's failed attempts to secure the permanent signing of Onuachu from Southampton.
In an interview with A Spor, Dogan revealed the intense negotiations and the club’s efforts to meet Southampton’s demands, only to be met with increasing fees.
“We had agreed with Onuachu. We’re still seeing each other. Southampton asked for seven million and we gave them that, they asked for ten, we went up to nine with bonuses, then they increased the asking fee to fifteen million. So, they weren’t going to give him to us. Therefore, we won’t force a deal somewhere else. If it is not on our terms, we will not be able to make this transfer,” Dogan said.

Meanwhile, Onuachu has featured 16 times for Southampton this season, scoring two goals, with his most recent strike coming in their 2-1 victory over Ipswich Town.
