Former Villareal and Turkiye midfielder Nihat Kahveci has lauded Super Eagles and Trabzonspor striker Paul Onuachu, Afrik Foot reports.

Kahveci played for Besiktas during his active days as a footballer, winning the Turkish League cup twice with the Black Eagles.

Onuachu has taken the Turkish Super Lig by storm this season, scoring 16 goals and providing one assist in 19 games, nine more than Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen.

Kahveci lauds Paul Onuachu’s aerial prowess

Following Onuachu’s goal in Trabzonspor’s 2-3 loss to Fenerbahce, Kahveci was in awe of the Nigerian striker’s ability in the air, claiming there’s no centre-back that can match his ability.

“There’s no centre-back who can stop Onuachu. On that cross, I don’t see a centre-back profile that can stop Onuachu. Maybe there isn’t one in the world,” the 46-year-old said in quotes revealed by T24.

Onuachu is the Turkish Super Lig’s leading goalscorer, but his beloved Trabzonspor are ten points behind Galatasaray in the league standings.

Still, Fatih Tekke’s side can mount a late title charge if they win the remainder of their league games, considering they still have a clash against Galatasaray in the first week of April.
