Osimhen, Jackson, Kofane among Africa’s 10 most valuable strikers

African football has no shortage of top centre-forwards, but their paths to the top of the market are very different, Afrik-Foot reports.

Some built their value through years of goals in Europe’s major leagues. Others made a rapid rise after one breakthrough season, while a younger group is now attracting attention after strong performances at club level.

Here is a closer look at the 10 African centre-forwards currently commanding the highest market values, per Transfermarkt.

Africa’s most valuable strikers

10. Tolu Arokodare, Nigeria, €20m

Arokodare’s rise has been built on goals and steady progress across Europe. He joined Genk from Amiens in January 2023 and developed into a key player in Belgium. Genk later described him as an important part of its starting team. In May 2025, he won the Ebony Shoe award as the best player of African origin in the Belgian league.

His form earned a move to the Premier League with Wolves in 2025. Transfermarkt now values the 25-year-old Nigeria striker at €20m.

9. Franculino, Guinea-Bissau, €22m

Franculino is one of the youngest names in this ranking. The 22-year-old developed at FC Midtjylland and has built his reputation in Denmark and European competition.

His progress has included important goals for Midtjylland. The Guinea-Bissau international is now valued at €22m.

8. Yoane Wissa, DR Congo, €25m

Wissa took time to build his name in England, but his goals eventually turned him into one of Brentford’s most important forwards.

He scored 19 Premier League goals in 2024-25 and became Brentford’s record Premier League scorer, passing Ivan Toney’s previous mark of 36 goals. He left for Newcastle in September 2025 after scoring 49 goals in 149 games for Brentford. The DR Congo striker is listed at €25m.

7. Amine Gouiri, Algeria, €28m

Gouiri built his reputation at Lyon before becoming a regular scorer at Nice and Rennes. He scored 28 goals and provided 19 assists in 89 games for Nice, then added 31 goals and 12 assists in 103 appearances for Rennes.

Marseille signed him in February 2025. He made a quick impact, producing five goal involvements in his first three appearances, including two goals against Saint-Étienne. The Algeria international is valued at €28m.

6. Serhou Guirassy, Guinea, €32m

Guirassy’s market value was built on one of the best scoring seasons by an African striker in recent Bundesliga history. The Guinea international scored 28 goals in 28 Bundesliga appearances for Stuttgart in 2023-24. He also scored 10 goals in his first seven league games that season.

Dortmund signed him in 2024. He then scored 13 Champions League goals in 14 appearances during Dortmund’s run to the 2025 quarter-finals. His current valuation is pegged at €32m.

5. Ange-Yoan Bonny, Ivory Coast, €35m

Bonny’s climb started in France before he moved to Italy. He made his professional debut for Châteauroux at only 17 in October 2020.

Parma became the key stage in his development. He made 117 appearances, scored 15 goals and helped Parma win the 2023-24 Serie B title. In his first Serie A season, he added six goals and three assists. Inter signed him in July 2025. His market value has since reached €35m.

4. Christian Kofane, Cameroon, €40m

Kofane has the most dramatic rise on this list. He moved from Cameroon to Spain in late 2024 and initially played for Albacete’s youth team. After the winter break, he broke into the senior side and scored eight goals and supplied one assist in 20 appearances.

Leverkusen signed him in July 2025. His rapid progress continued in Germany, and his performances in the Bundesliga and Champions League pushed his market value to €40m. He is now one of Cameroon’s most valuable players at only 20.

3. Nicolas Jackson, Senegal, €40m

Jackson was born in Banjul, The Gambia, and developed through Senegalese football before joining Villarreal’s youth system in Spain.

Chelsea signed him in 2023 after his breakthrough at Villarreal. He scored 14 Premier League goals in his first Chelsea season, helping establish himself as a regular top-flight striker. Transfermarkt now values the Senegal international at €40m, although his career-high value reached €55m.

2. Omar Marmoush, Egypt, €50m

Marmoush’s value jumped after his explosive start at Eintracht Frankfurt in 2024-25. He had already scored 17 goals and supplied six assists in 41 matches during his first Frankfurt season. Then he produced 20 goals and 14 assists in only 26 games before joining Manchester City in January 2025.

His first half of that Bundesliga campaign produced 15 league goals and 24 direct goal contributions, the best total in the division at that stage. The Egypt star is now valued at €50m.

1. Victor Osimhen, Nigeria, €75m

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen is still in a different class at the top. His value grew through his goal record with Napoli. In 2022-23, he scored 26 Serie A goals in 31 games in all competitions, helping Napoli win the Italian title. He also finished as Serie A’s leading scorer.

His earlier Napoli years were already strong. The former Lille striker recorded 24 league goals and eight assists across his first two Serie A seasons before his breakthrough campaign. After his move to Galatasaray, Osimhen kept his place among Europe’s elite strikers. He remains rated at €75m, giving Nigeria the No. 1 player on this list.
