Victor Osimhen returned from injury to help Galatasaray secure a dramatic 3-1 victory over Kasımpaşa on Friday night.
The Nigeria international provided an assist in stoppage time after coming off the bench to seal the Turkish giants’ fifth win of the seven-matchday-old campaign.
The Super Eagles striker had missed three matches following an injury against İstanbul Başakşehir in September. His return at RAMS Park offered Galatasaray a timely boost ahead of their UEFA Champions League meeting with Barcelona.
Here are five things fans may have missed from Osimhen’s latest appearance.
Osimhen takes his goal contributions to nine
Returning from a spell on the treatment table, Osimhen needed only a short spell on the pitch to make his presence felt. Introduced in the 77th minute, the Nigerian linked up with Mario Lemina to seal Galatasaray’s victory deep in stoppage time.

That contribution takes Osimhen’s tally to six goals and three assists in five appearances, despite playing only 316 minutes.
It has been an incredible start to the 2026/27 season for the Super Eagles striker who remains the Super Lig’s most valuable player and Nigeria’s top earner.
Osimhen is the highest-rated player in the Süper Lig
Osimhen’s impressive start to the season has placed him at the top of WhoScored’s Süper Lig player ratings.
The former Napoli man boasts an outstanding average rating of 8.24 after four starts and one substitute appearance. That figure puts him comfortably ahead of his closest challenger, Mo Salah, who has a 7.98 rating.
Despite playing just 316 minutes, the Super Eagles star has set the standard in the Turkish top flight, with his six goals and three assists helping him establish a clear lead on the charts.

Osimhen finally gets a win against Kasımpaşa
Friday’s victory was a personal milestone for Osimhen against Kasımpaşa.
The Nigerian had faced the Istanbul club twice during his first loan spell at Galatasaray, with both encounters ending in 3-3 draws. He scored twice in each match but could not help his team secure victory.
He also missed both league meetings against Kasımpaşa last season because of yellow-card suspensions.
This time, the 27-year-old finally tasted victory against the club, adding an assist to his record against them.
Osimhen helps end Kasimpasa’s unbeaten start
Kasimpasa arrived at RAMS Park as the only unbeaten team in the Süper Lig this season.
Abdülkerim Bardakcı put Galatasaray ahead in the 45th minute, but Rak-Sakyi restored parity after coming off the bench. Galatasaray then needed late goals from Yılmaz and Lemina to secure all three points.

Osimhen played a direct role in the final blow, turning a tense contest into a two-goal victory.
The result handed Kasımpaşa their first league defeat of the campaign and gave Galatasaray a response after their recent setback against Trabzonspor.
A game of substitutes
Substitutes shaped the outcome at RAMS Park, with two of the three goals scored after half-time involving players who entered the game from the bench.
Kasımpasa’s Rak-Sakyi came on in the 58th minute and equalised 10 minutes later.
Galatasaray responded by introducing Osimhen and Leroy Sané in the 77th minute. Yılmaz then scored in the 90th minute, while Osimhen supplied the pass for Lemina’s stoppage-time finish.
The Nigerian’s contribution was especially important because Galatasaray had been reduced to 10 men after Lucas Torreira was sent off in the 65th minute.
Osimhen would be pleased with his return and his match-winning contribution from the bench just days before Galatasaray’s Champions League clash with Barcelona.
