Turkish football analyst Emre Aşık has heaped praise on Victor Osimhen after the striker’s outstanding display for Galatasaray in their 3-0 victory over Fenerbahçe in the fierce Intercontinental Derby, Afrik-Foot reports.
Osimhen once again proved decisive on Sunday night, scoring in the comfortable win and continuing his strong record in this high-stakes fixture. The former Napoli ace broke the deadlock just before halftime with a stunning instinctive finish, from which point there was no way back for the visitors.
Across five matches against Fenerbahçe, the Nigerian forward has now registered three goals and one assist, repeatedly troubling their defence with his pace, strength, and sharp movement. His current form remains just as sharp, with goals in seven of his last eight league starts in the Süper Lig.

Aşık was especially struck by Osimhen’s mentality and leadership during the derby, even when the game was already won.
“I’ve never seen a player like Osimhen,” Aşık said as per Habersarikirmizi.
“He comes and gives instructions to the defense, he signals to the midfield. I’ve never seen such ambition, such passion in a player. He comes and shouts to the defense when it’s 3-0, ‘Let’s not make it 3-1, let’s win 3-0!’ You can see it in his attitude.”
Victor Osimhen’s impact at Galatasaray
Since arriving from SSC Napoli in 2024, Osimhen has transformed Galatasaray into a dominant force.

Initially joining on loan, he quickly became a fan favourite at Rams Park before completing a permanent move in 2025 for a reported €75 million, a record fee in Turkish football.
His impact has been immediate and historic. In his first full season, he scored 35 goals in all competitions, breaking a long-standing record and leading the club to a domestic double. This season, he has continued that form with 20 goals and seven assists, keeping Galatasaray at the top of the table.
A Galatasaray win at Samsunspor this weekend will seal a third career league title for Osimhen following last year’s Super Lig triumph and his Scudetto win with Napoli in 2023.
