Paris FC 4-1 Monaco: Super Eagles star Simon, Koleosho inspire Les Bleus to record win

Paris FC produced arguably their standout performance of the season as they beat AS Monaco 4-1 at Stade Jean-Bouin on Friday night, Afrik-Foot reports.

It was a result few expected, especially against a Monaco side pushing near the top of Ligue 1, but the hosts made a fast start count and never looked back.

At the heart of it was Moses Simon, whose energy and direct running caused problems from the very first whistle. The Nigerian winger needed just four minutes to make his mark, delivering a precise cross that was calmly finished by Jonathan Ikoné to give Paris FC an early lead. That moment set the tone for what became a ruthless attacking display.

Paris FC struck again just four minutes later when Ciro Immobile doubled the advantage, finishing off a well-worked move.

Monaco were still trying to settle when Ikoné grabbed his second in the 21st minute, capping a rapid counter-attack to make it 3-0 inside a remarkable opening spell. Scoring three goals in the first 21 minutes is a top-flight record for the club since their return to Ligue 1 this season.

Simon, playing the full 90 minutes on the left wing, was central to much of Paris FC’s attacking play. He stretched the Monaco defence, linked well with teammates and consistently provided an outlet on the break. His assist for the opening goal proved crucial, giving his side early control and confidence.

Monaco did respond before the break, with Folarin Balogun pulling a goal back in the 36th minute after being played through on goal. However, despite enjoying more possession, the visitors struggled to break down a disciplined Paris FC defence, with goalkeeper Kevin Trapp making several important saves.

Koleosho seals it as Paris FC stay clinical

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Monaco dominating the ball but Paris FC looking sharper and more dangerous when going forward. The home side showed impressive efficiency, turning limited chances into goals.

The game was finally put beyond doubt in the 71st minute, thanks to substitute Luca Koleosho. Introduced just minutes earlier, the Nigeria-eligible forward made an instant impact. Cutting inside from the flank, he unleashed a powerful long-range strike that flew into the top corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.

It was a moment of real quality and a reminder of Koleosho’s growing influence since joining the club on loan. Often used as an impact substitute, his pace and direct style have become valuable weapons for Paris FC.

Overall, it was a disciplined and clinical performance from Paris FC. Despite having less possession, they were far more effective in front of goal, scoring four times from relatively few clear chances.

This victory extends Paris FC’s longest unbeaten run of the season to seven matches (W3, D4) under manager Antoine Kombouaré.

With this win, Paris FC achieved a rare league double over AS Monaco, having also won the reverse fixture 1–0 in November 2025.

The victory lifts Paris FC to 12th on the Ligue 1 table, with a healthy 17 points lead over relegation candidates Nantes.
