Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has emerged as a top transfer target for Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ahli, Afrik-Foot reports.
Onuachu has been one of the most prolific Nigerian strikers in Europe this season. After completing a permanent move from Southampton to Trabzonspor last summer, the towering forward has taken the Turkish Süper Lig by storm.
This season, the Super Eagles star has racked up 17 goals and one assist in just 20 appearances. His contribution is top level, as he has been directly involved in nearly half of the Black Sea Storm’s league goals, sealing his status as the club’s most important player.

With Onuachu in such brilliant form, Trabzonspor fans are dreaming of European football next season, provided they can keep pace with title rivals Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe.
However, his brilliance has not gone unnoticed outside of Turkey, and the club now faces the real risk of losing him this summer.
Al-Ahli Eye Paul Onuachu as Ivan Toney’s Successor
According to reports from Turkish outlet Sabah Spor, Al-Ahli has identified Onuachu as a genuine target to bolster their frontline.
The Saudi giants are reportedly looking for a replacement for Ivan Toney, who appears set on a return to mainstream European football in the summer window.

While Onuachu is currently under contract until 2028, Al-Ahli is prepared to use their financial might to force a move. To lure the Nigerian away from Trabzon, they are reportedly planning to triple his current wages.
Onuachu currently earns approximately €48,000 (gross) per week. A tripled offer would see his salary soar to €144,000 per week, which translates to a staggering ₦225 million in Nigerian currency.
At 31, this would be the biggest paycheck of Onuachu’s career. It would present him with a tempting situation. He will have to choose between continuing to compete at a high level in Europe or secure a massive financial future in the Middle East.

It is a path many players in their 30s have taken, prioritizing lucrative deals as they enter the twilight of their careers.
However, the move is not yet done. Al-Ahli must still negotiate a transfer fee with Trabzonspor. Given his incredible output this season, the Turkish club is expected to demand a fee significantly higher than the €5.7 million they paid Southampton just a year ago.
