Trabzonspor have made their position clear on Paul Onuachu after strong interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia and across Europe, Afrik-Foot reports.
The Turkish side have no plans to sell their leading striker, even after he turned down an offer that would have increased his salary fourfold.
The Nigerian forward has been one of the standout players in the Süper Lig this season. Since joining from Southampton FC for around €5.6 million at the start of the campaign, Onuachu has quickly become the focal point of Trabzonspor’s attack.

He has scored 21 league goals, putting him at the top of the scoring charts and playing a key role in the club’s push for the title.
Onuachu’s performances have attracted interest from clubs in Europe and Saudi Arabia.
Reports from Turkiye Gazetesi reveal that offers have arrived from Saudi Arabia, where clubs were willing to pay significantly higher wages, but the Super Eagles striker chose to stay.
Trabzonspor’s manager, Fatih Tekke, is understood to be a strong admirer of the forward and has made it clear he wants him to remain at the club. The club’s hierarchy have backed that view, rejecting approaches and insisting that Onuachu is not for sale.

Why Paul Onuachu has become one of the hottest strikers around
Onuachu’s rise this season has been built on consistency, physical presence and sharp finishing. Standing out as a traditional centre-forward, he has caused constant problems for defenders with his strength, movement and ability in the air.
At 31, he is also bringing experience and leadership to the team. His understanding of positioning inside the penalty area has been crucial, often turning half-chances into goals. This reliability in front of goal has made him one of the most feared strikers in Turkey this season.

Beyond the numbers, there is also a clear connection between player and club. Onuachu has settled quickly in Trabzon and formed a strong bond with supporters, something that has influenced both his decision to reject lucrative offers and the club’s determination to keep him.
His contract runs until 2028, with an option for an extra year, giving Trabzonspor a strong position in any negotiations. With interest growing across Europe as well as from Saudi Arabia, the Nigerian could become an even more highly sought-after forward in the summer.
For now, though, Trabzonspor are standing firm. With their title ambitions still alive, they see Onuachu not just as a key player for the present, but as a central figure in their plans for the future.
