Porto coach Francesco Farioli has revealed that he is unsure if the club will proceed with signing Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi when his loan deal expires in the summer, Afrik-Foot reports.
Moffi’s future currently hangs in the balance, as he is expected to switch clubs in the summer after OGC Nice co-president Maurice Cohen announced that there is no way back for him at the club.
Recall that the relationship between the 26-year-old striker and the French club became strained last year after he and his teammates were attacked by fans following a defeat.

Consequently, during the January transfer window, he forced a move to FC Porto to reunite with his former boss, Farioli.
So far, the move hasn’t quite gone to plan; he has featured in 14 games, recording just two goals and one assist. However, in fairness to the forward, most of his appearances have come off the bench.
Following the confirmation that Moffi will not be welcomed back at OGC Nice, Porto coach Farioli was asked about the Nigerian’s situation and whether the Dragons would look to sign him permanently this summer. He offered a rather coy response.

”It’s clear that both parties want to separate. We have an option to buy; we’ll see what happens after both sides have heard from each other and presented new conditions,” Farioli said.
Porto have an €8 million buy option attached to Moffi’s contract, and it remains to be seen if they will activate it.
Where Does Terem Moffi Move Next?
As of now, Porto seems the most likely destination for Terem Moffi since he is already at the club. However, given the team’s other attacking options and the fact that Moffi is struggling for minutes, there is a strong possibility they may not push for a permanent deal.
Nonetheless, the former Lorient man should not be short of suitors. He boasts an impressive track record in Ligue 1, particularly before the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury he sustained last year.

Having previously been linked to Ligue 1 clubs like Paris FC and Marseille, these sides could return for him in the summer window.
In the meantime, Moffi is eyeing silverware at Porto. His team currently leads the Primeira Liga, sitting seven points clear of second-place Benfica and eight ahead of third-place Sporting CP, who have a game in hand.
If they win three of their remaining four games, Porto will be crowned champions.
