Galatasaray are planning for next season and have set their sights on Canadian striker Promise David as a possible strike partner for Victor Osimhen, Afrik-Foot reports.
According to reports in Turkey, the Super Lig champions want to build their attack around two powerful forwards; Osimhen and David. The idea is to give the team energy, strength and goals at the top end of the pitch.
David was born in Brampton, Ontario, and once represented Nigeria at Under-23 level. However, he has now switched his international allegiance and is cap-tied to Canada.

The 24-year-old currently plays for Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise and has built a reputation as a sharp and aggressive goal scorer.
But he is facing a difficult moment. David recently had surgery to repair a ruptured tendon in his hip. The injury is expected to keep him out for at least three months, which could affect his chances of being included in Canada’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
Galatasaray are looking at David as a possible replacement for Mauro Icardi. The Argentine striker has around three months left on his contract in Istanbul, and his future remains unclear.

Interestingly, David strengthened his reputation in November 2025 when he scored the winning goal for Union Saint-Gilloise against Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League.
Victor Osimhen’s future uncertain as European giants watch
While Galatasaray are planning for David, they also face uncertainty over Osimhen’s future.
The Nigerian striker has been in excellent form this season and continues to attract interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs. A move back to Italy, where Juventus are keen, could be complicated.

However, there is strong interest from Spain, England and Germany.
Bayern Munich closely monitored Victor Osimhen during Galatasaray’s Champions League matches against Juventus. The striker impressed, scoring one goal and providing two assists. The Bundesliga champions could make a summer move for the 27-year-old.
Barcelona are also said to be interested. They see Osimhen as a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski. However, meeting the reported €100m asking price may prove difficult for the Spanish giants.
Big spenders Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid are also believed to be monitoring the situation, meaning there could be major movement in the summer transfer window.

Should Osimhen leave Istanbul, David could well be his replacement and not his strike partner.
However, Galatasaray are not alone in chasing David. English clubs including Leeds United, West Ham United and Sunderland are also interested.
David is often praised for having a similar playing style to Osimhen. He is powerful, presses defenders tirelessly and fights for every ball.
The big question remains: will Galatasaray sign Promise David to play beside Osimhen, or are they preparing for life without their Nigerian star? The summer transfer window will provide the answer.
