Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface could hardly believe what he was watching as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Bayern Munich played out a breathtaking Champions League semi-final first leg on Tuesday night, Afrik-Foot reports.
Like millions of fans around the world, Boniface tuned in to watch the match at the Parc des Princes, and he was treated to one of the most exciting games in recent history.
The Nigerian forward, who has spoken openly about struggling with “depression” in recent months, found a moment of joy in the thrilling encounter. Known for his love of attacking football, Boniface could not hide his excitement as the goals kept coming.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) during the match, he simply wrote: ‘What a game.’
It was easy to see why. The contest became the highest-scoring first leg of a Champions League semi-final since the competition began in 1955.
PSG vs Bayern Munich: How the epic unfolded
In a match that will be remembered for years, PSG edged Bayern Munich 5-4 in a nine-goal classic.
For the first time in a European Cup semi-final, both teams scored four or more goals in the same match. It also matched one of the highest-scoring semi-finals ever, alongside the famous 1960 clash between Rangers and Eintracht Frankfurt.
The action started early when Harry Kane gave Bayern the lead from the penalty spot in the 17th minute, continuing his incredible scoring form this season. PSG responded quickly through Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who scored a brilliant equaliser before Joao Neves headed the home side in front.
Just before half-time, Michael Olise made it 2-2, but PSG regained the lead in stoppage time when Ousmane Dembele converted a penalty after a VAR review for handball against Alphonso Davies.

PSG came out strongly after the break. Kvaratskhelia scored again, and within moments Dembele added another to make it 5-2. At that point, the French champions looked completely in control.
But Bayern refused to give up. Dayot Upamecano pulled one back with a header, and soon after, Luis Diaz scored after a clever pass from Kane. The goal was first ruled out for offside but later given after another VAR check.
That made it 5-4 and set up a tense finish, with Bayern pushing hard for an equaliser that never came. With the second leg set to take place at the Allianz Arena, fans can expect another exciting encounter. If the return match produces five or more goals, this tie could become the highest-scoring knockout clash in Champions League history.
