Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika has completed his transfer from Club Brugge to German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, Afrik-Foot reports.
The German club pursued the deal for two years, as they were impressed by Onyedika’s standout performances in Belgium.
Onyedika joined Blau-Zwart from FC Midtjylland in 2022 and quickly established himself as a key player, making 183 appearances across all competitions. During his time in Belgium, he won two league titles and one Belgian Cup.

After weeks of speculation, Eintracht Frankfurt finally secured his signature, successfully fending off competition from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad. They confirmed his signing on Sunday via a release on their official website.
How Eintracht Frankfurt Signed Raphael Onyedika for €9 Million
Raphael Onyedika joins Eintracht Frankfurt for a €9 million base fee, with an additional €1 million in performance-related add-ons.
This transfer is obviously a major coup for Eintracht Frankfurt. The midfielder is currently valued at €23 million on Transfermarkt, but the German club are acquiring his sservices for less than half his market value.

The bargain price was largely due to contract dynamics; Onyedika had entered the final year of his deal at Club Brugge and refused to sign an extension, leaving the Belgian club facing the risk of losing him for free next summer.
Onyedika has signed a five-year contract that keeps him at the Deutsche Bank Park until the summer of 2031.

Raphael Onyedika will wear the number 25 jersey at Eintracht Frankfurt—the number previously worn by Arnaud Kalimuendo last season.

Speaking after the finalization of the contract, Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche praised the Super Eagles star’s tactical intelligence and reliability.
“Raphael Onyedika impresses us not only with his robustness and strategic understanding of the game, but above all with his exceptional consistency,” Krosche said.
He has been a regular starter for several years and has celebrated numerous titles in Belgium.
Furthermore, he possesses valuable international experience. At 25 years old, he still has great potential for development and is also an important building block for the structure of our squad.”
Onyedika will now look to repay the club’s faith in him with standout performances on the pitch in the coming weeks.
