Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has dropped a major hint about the club’s transfer plans ahead of the summer window amid growing links with Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, Afrik-Foot reports.
The 15-time European champions are preparing for a major rebuild in the summer after enduring another disappointing campaign that is expected to end without a major silverware.
Los Blancos missed out on the La Liga title to bitter rivals Barcelona despite previously holding a strong advantage in the title race. They also crashed out of both the Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League and were beaten in the Spanish Super Cup final earlier in the year.

The Spanish giants have also been overshadowed by several controversies off the pitch, having dismissed head coach Xabi Alonso earlier in the campaign, as well as recent reports of tension involving several senior players in training.

Real Madrid are expected to begin a new era this summer, with several high-profile names already linked with moves to the Spanish capital, as they look to return to becoming the force they once were in Europe and also domestically.
One major priority is the appointment of a new head coach, with former manager José Mourinho already emerging as a top target to take over the club on a second stint at the end of the season.
The Portuguese tactician’s links with Madrid have also fuelled speculation around Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, with reports claiming Mourinho is keen on bringing the Nigerian striker to the Santiago Bernabéu as his first-choice centre forward if he returns as head coach.
Real Madrid are also expected to strengthen other areas of the squad, particularly in defence and in midfield and they have already been linked with several other football superstars, including Enzo Fernandez, Michael Olise, Rodri, Nico Schlotterbeck, Vitinha amongst others.

Speaking during an interview with El Chiringuito TV, Perez made it clear that Madrid are ready to move for top-quality players this summer.
“Of course we will sign players this summer. Always exciting signings. When there’s a good player, I go for him”, Perez said, via 433.
Will Victor Osimhen join Real Madrid?
Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen has continued to attract interest from several top European clubs ahead of the transfer window and his performances over the last few seasons have shown exactly why he remains one of the most sought-after strikers at the moment.
Since joining Galatasaray in 2024, the 27-year-old has established himself as one of the club’s most important players and has consistently delivered goalscoring performances both domestically and also in Europe. Osimhen has scored 59 times from 74 appearances across all competitions and has helped the Cimbom to three trophies in just two seasons.
The Super Eagles star has already been linked with several European powerhouses including Arsenal, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
A move to Madrid could potentially be linked with Mourinho’s possible return, but it would present Osimhen with a greater opportunity to compete for the UEFA Champions League and other major trophies.

However, Galatasaray are unwilling to change their stance and do not want to sell the Nigerian forward this summer, as they look to build the team around him to continue their dominance in the Turkish Super Lig.
For now, Osimhen’s future remains uncertain and with the summer transfer window still very open, situations can change very quickly. However, if Real Madrid complete a deal for the 27-year-old, it would represent a major statement signing ahead of next season.
