Super Eagles and Valencia striker Sadiq Umar has revealed his delight at his side’s victory against Osasuna in the La Liga last night, Afrik Foot reports.

The 29-year-old was an impactful figure at the Estadio de Mestalla, as Sergio Herrera fouled him, resulting in a penalty.

Largie Ramazani converted the resulting spot kick to send Carlos Corberan’s men to 13th on the La Liga table.

Sadiq Umar weighs in on Valencia victory

Sadiq joined Los Che on a permanent deal back in the winter transfer window and has helped them out of the relegation zone.

After the game, he highlighted how much the win means to his side, and he wants them to carry on in like manner.

“It is important for us to earn the three points today. We’ve been working hard this week to give the fans what they deserve, and now we finally have all three points and are already waiting for the next game,” the former Rangers striker said in quotes revealed by the Valencia official website.

“Playing here [at the Mestalla] is always a dream for each of us. Playing in front of this crowd in this stadium with so much tradition. It’s a different feeling to play here.

“His goal helped us get the three points, and that’s what we want. The most important thing is that each of us knows what he has to do to help the team, so you can see that we are like a family here and we are all trying to give our best for this club.

“In this division, no match is easy; we know what we are going to face [in the next game against Deportivo Alaves].

“Now I think we will have a little break, maybe for a day, and we will return next week, and hopefully we will get another three points.

“From day one, I felt great when I arrived in Valencia. Now that I’m back here, it’s something different.

“All I can do is be grateful to the fans and thank them for continuing to support us,” the ex-UD Almeria striker concluded.
