Chidera Ejuke’s future at Sevilla could take a turn, with the Nigerian winger now seemingly back in Luis García Plaza’s plans after being considered one of the players the Spanish club wanted to move on this summer, Afrik-Foot reports.
Just weeks ago, Ejuke was effectively on the transfer list. He was left out of Sevilla’s pre-season trip to the Netherlands as the club looked to find a solution for his future.
But his situation has changed significantly, and the 28-year-old could now remain at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.

Why Chidera Ejuke’s Exit Might Not Happen
Ejuke’s departure was not just a possibility. Sevilla had reportedly been working on a replacement before his exit fell through.
According to Spanish reports, the Super Eagles star was close to joining Anderlecht, while Sevilla had already reached an agreement in principle to sign Adrián Liso as his replacement.
However, the proposed move for Ejuke collapsed, stopping Sevilla from completing their plans for Liso. The winger eventually joined Mallorca instead.

That left Sevilla with a player they had expected to lose and a recruitment plan that could no longer be completed.
So Ejuke returned to the first-team setup and was handed an opportunity against Rayo Vallecano, coming off the bench in the second half. Due to that failed transfer, Sevilla now have to reconsider the Super Eagles star’s place in the squad.
García Plaza Wants To Keep Ejuke
Sevilla coach García Plaza has already shown that he is willing to trust Ejuke when the circumstances demand it. The Nigerian was surprisingly handed a starting role against Real Sociedad last season and produced a performance that earned the manager’s approval. He also started against Espanyol.
Those experiences appear to have reminded García Plaza that Ejuke can still provide something different to his attack.

His versatility is particularly useful. The former CSKA Moscow winger can operate on either flank, giving the manager another option when he needs to change the shape or personnel of his attack. That does not mean Ejuke’s future is completely settled.
His Sevilla contract runs until June 2027, and the club remains open to offers. If another suitable proposal arrives before the transfer window closes, Sevilla could still decide to part ways with him.
But at the moment, after a period in which his future appeared to be elsewhere, the Super Eagles winger now has a chance to convince his manager — and the club — that selling him would be a mistake.
