Action resumed in the CAF Champions League last weekend, and two Nigerian clubs - Enugu Rangers and El-Kanemi - were involved in the action.

Both of them were faced with North African giants in this last preliminary round. Rangers were pitched against MC Algiers in the Champions League, while El-Kanemi had to deal with two-time Confederation Cup kings Raja Casablanca.

Rangers ran away with a 2-0 win from the first leg, while El-Kanemi settled for a 2-2 draw against Raja Casablanca.

With these results, it is clear that the ties are far from being over. The second legs will be played this coming weekend.

Super Eagles stars Tochukwu Nnadi and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru were brilliant for their clubs on Sunday. Nnadi contributed an assist and had a brilliant display in midfield to help Marseille defeat Troyes 5-2.

It was just his first start this season, and he gave a very good account of himself. With that performance, he could pin down a starting at the club.

Meanwhile, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru was also very good in Italy. He returned to action last week after a short injury lay off and has been eased back into the side slowly.

Yesterday, he was introduced into the game in the 69th minute, as he went on a mazy solo run to score the third goal for his club in an impressive 3-0 schooling of Juventus.

Dele-Bashiru looked really confident and solid in the middle of the park.
