Super Eagles defender Bruno Onyemaechi has emerged as a potential target for Spanish La Liga side Real Betis, Afrik-Foot reports.
Onyemaechi is currently with Olympiacos, having joined last year from Portuguese club Boavista in a deal worth €2.5 million.
However, he has struggled to cement a regular place in the starting lineup, with most of his appearances coming from the bench. He has featured in six matches so far this season, including two UEFA Champions League qualifiers.

Despite his limited playing time, the 27-year-old left-back has attracted genuine interest from Real Betis, who are keen to strengthen their squad to compete both domestically and in European competition.
Here is what we know about the potential transfer and how it could pan out.
Real Betis Put Onyemaechi On Their Radar
Betis’ interest gives Onyemaechi another opportunity to reach one of Europe’s major leagues after previously attracting attention from Spain while at Boavista.

Las Palmas and Getafe were keeping tabs on the Super Eagles defender as of two years ago. There were even reports that Las Palmas made an official approach.
This time, the interest is coming from a club with a significant history in Spanish football. Betis won their only La Liga title in the 1934/35 season and remain regular competitors in European football.
Olympiacos Have Set The Price For Their Super Eagles Star
Olympiacos appear to have little reason to sell cheaply. They paid €2.5m for Onyemaechi and handed him a contract running until June 2028, leaving the Greek club in a strong negotiating position if Betis eventually make an approach.

📑 Olympiacos → Signed for €2.5M.
💰 Asking price → €6M.

Their reported €6m asking price would give them a sizeable return on the defender, although Boavista are also due to benefit from the deal due to a sell-on clause.
The Portuguese club negotiated a 10 per cent sell-on clause when Onyemaechi left for Greece, meaning they would receive a share of any future transfer fee.

However, a deal cannot happen now since the transfer market is still closed. But January could be the time. Betis are challenging for the La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Champions League. Depending on the game load, they could need reinforcements in January and go all out for the Nigerian.
