Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has stated that he is not disturbed by his inability to find a new club since leaving Chippa United nearly two months ago, Afrik-Foot reports.
Nwabali severed ties with the South African club last month, bringing an end to a four-year stint during which he rose to become a key player and the club’s captain. His consistently brilliant performances also earned him his maiden Super Eagles call-up for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Following his standout displays in that tournament, Nwabali was heavily linked with several top clubs both within Africa and across Europe.

Consequently, when his departure from Chippa was confirmed, many expected him to join a new side almost immediately.
However, that has not been the case. Nearly two months later, the 29-year-old shot-stopper remains a free agent.
While he was recently linked to South African giants Kaizer Chiefs, the move failed to materialize, and no other club has yet shown concrete interest in securing his services.

Stanley Nwabali Unfazed Despite Search for New Club
With his continued absence from club football, Nwabali risks losing his starting spot in the Super Eagles. Rivals like Maduka Okoye and Francis Uzoho are waiting in the wings, while a strong case is being made for Arthur Okonkwo, who has been exceptionally reliable for Wrexham.

Despite these concerns, Nwabali remains calm. In a recent interview, he admitted that many of the stories linking him to various clubs might be fabricated, but he remains positive that a move is on the horizon.
”It’s rumors everywhere. Anyone talking about any club, rumor… When people wish you well and they want you to achieve something, you understand,” Nwabali said
”It’s not necessarily a bad thing when people start rumors; it shows that you are relevant and that people recognize your quality. It’s not a bad thought, but at the end of the day, it’s just a rumor. You will only know for sure when you see me signing for a club or wearing their shirt.”
He continued: “I’m not worried. I don’t have a specific country or league where I’m desperate to play. Wherever welcomes me and feels right, I can play. That’s it.”
While he remains without a club, Nwabali has been sharing photos of himself in private training sessions to ensure he stays fit for whenever an offer arrives.
The Super Eagles star will be hoping to finalize a move soon, as his international career could face a standstill if he remains sidelined for much longer.
