Osimhen 3rd, Adams 9th – Super Eagles stars with the most goals and assists this season

Published on by

Several Super Eagles stars have made impressive starts to the 2026/27 season, delivering goals and assists for their clubs across Europe.

From Turkey to the Netherlands, Belgium and Portugal, Nigeria’s internationals are making their mark, with some producing outstanding numbers just weeks into the campaign.

Victor Osimhen is once again among the country’s leading attackers. Despite missing around five weeks through injury, the Galatasaray striker has recorded nine goal contributions to rank third on the list.

However, he is not the most productive Nigerian forward so far.

Gift Orban, Tolu Arokodare, Akor Adams, Moses Usor and Rafiu Durosinmi all feature prominently on this chart.

Here are the 10 Super Eagles stars with the most goals and assists this season.

Super Eagles stars with most goals and assists

10. Paul Onuachu: 3 goal contributions

Paul Onuachu has endured a relatively slow start to the new campaign after finishing last season as the Turkish Super Lig’s top scorer.

The Trabzonspor striker has managed three goals so far, with two coming in a commanding 5-0 league victory over Genclerbirligi.

However, those goals remain his only league strikes across his seven league appearances, leaving him with work to do if he hopes to reproduce last season’s scoring form.

His other goal came in Trabzonspor’s 4-2 UEFA Conference League victory over KuPS Kuopio, when he found the net just three minutes into the match. Unfortunately, the Nigerian forward suffered an injury in the 10th minute of that encounter, putting a dampener on his European outing.

Onuachu will hope to recover quickly and rediscover the consistency that made him one of the Turkish league’s most feared strikers last season.

9. Akor Adams: 5 goal contributions

Akor Adams has given Venezia an early glimpse of what he can offer, with his latest contribution proving particularly valuable.

The Super Eagles forward scored the winning goal in Venezia’s shock 1-0 victory over Napoli, securing a memorable result against one of Italy’s leading clubs.

It was his second Serie A goal of the season, following his earlier strike against Fiorentina in September.

Adams has also delivered in the Coppa Italia, recording two goals and an assist across two appearances in the competition.

Those performances give the Nigerian four goals and one assist in the early stages of the campaign.

8. Samuel Kalu: 6 goal contributions

Samuel Kalu is enjoying a resurgence with Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv, where he has produced six goal contributions in 12 appearances.

The former Bordeaux playmaker has been particularly effective in the league, recording three goals and two assists in 11 matches.

One of his standout performances came last month when he scored twice in Botev Plovdiv’s emphatic 3-0 victory over September Sofia.

Kalu’s return to form will be encouraging for the winger, who has previously struggled to maintain consistency during spells in European football.

If he sustains this form, Kalu could push himself further up the rankings as the season progresses.

7. Abraham Marcus: 6 goal contributions

Abraham Marcus is enjoying what could become a breakthrough season in Portugal after finding a home at Estrela Amadora.

The 26-year-old spent several years on the fringes at Porto, but his performances this campaign suggest he is ready to make a stronger impression in senior football.

Marcus has recorded four goals and two assists in nine appearances, an impressive return for a player establishing himself at a new club.

Five of those goal contributions, including four goals, have come in eight league appearances. He has also registered an assist in the Taça de Portugal.

6. Cyriel Dessers: 6 goal contributions

Cyriel Dessers has maintained his scoring touch despite injury problems disrupting his early-season campaign at Panathinaikos.

The Super Eagles striker has scored six goals in 12 appearances for the Greek club, recording four goals in four Conference League qualifying matches and two more in the Greek Super League.

His European numbers are particularly impressive, considering he did not start any of those qualifying fixtures.

Dessers has shown that he can make an impact even when his opportunities are limited, providing Panathinaikos with a reliable attacking option.

The club have also made a strong start domestically, sitting top of the Super League table, two points ahead of second-placed Olympiacos.

With his finishing ability still intact, Dessers will hope to put his injury concerns behind him and improve on his current tally.

5. Rafiu Durosinmi: 7 goal contributions

Rafiu Durosinmi has wasted little time justifying Genk’s decision to invest heavily in him during the summer transfer window.

The Super Eagles forward has scored seven goals since joining the Belgian club, including six in the league, where he leads the division’s scoring chart.

He added another goal at the weekend with a strike in Genk’s 2-0 victory over Excel. Virton in the seventh round of the Croky Cup.

If he maintains his current scoring rate, Durosinmi could become an important name in the race for the Belgian league’s Golden Boot while strengthening his case for further involvement with the Super Eagles.

4. Moses Usor: 8 goal contributions

Moses Usor has continued his impressive form for LASK, building on the promise he showed last season.

The Nigerian forward has registered three goals and five assists, making him one of the country’s most productive attacking players this term.

In the Austrian Bundesliga, Usor has scored twice and provided three assists in eight appearances.

He also played an important role in helping LASK reach the Champions League league phase, scoring and assisting across the two qualifying matches against Celtic.

His contribution extended to the Austrian Cup, where he provided an assist in LASK’s emphatic 7-0 victory over SC Kalsdorf.

One of his best performances came against SV Ried, when he scored once and supplied two assists in a 4-1 win.

Usor has also made his mark on the international stage, scoring the winning goal against Madagascar on his Super Eagles debut.

His versatility and creativity make him a valuable attacking option for both club and country.

3. Victor Osimhen: 9 goal contributions

Victor Osimhen has once again demonstrated why he remains one of Nigeria’s most influential attacking players, despite a frustrating spell on the sidelines.

The Galatasaray striker has recorded six goals and three assists this season, giving him nine goal contributions in seven appearances.

Remarkably, all nine contributions have come in six league matches, as remains an important figure for the Turkish champions whenever he is available.

Osimhen was particularly devastating in August, scoring twice and providing an assist in Galatasaray’s 4-0 demolition of Erzurumspor FK.

His European campaign has been less productive, however, as he failed to add to his tally when Galatasaray faced Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League.

2. Tolu Arokodare: 9 goal contributions

Tolu Arokodare has made a strong impression since joining Ajax on loan from Wolves during the summer.

The Super Eagles forward appears to have settled quickly into life in the Netherlands, delivering the goals and assists expected of an attacking player at one of the Eredivisie’s leading clubs.

Arokodare has scored seven goals and supplied two assists, taking his total to nine goal contributions.

Four goals and one assist have come in eight Eredivisie appearances, while he added three goals and an assist in three Conference League qualifying matches.

An illness has slowed his progress in recent days, but it has done little to diminish the significance of his start to the campaign.

Arokodare will hope to regain full fitness and continue delivering for Ajax as the season gathers pace.

1. Gift Orban: 10 goal contributions

Gift Orban is currently the most productive Nigerian player on this list after making an explosive start to life at Amedspor.

The forward joined the Turkish club on loan during the summer and has wasted little time making himself at home, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in just eight appearances.

His ten goal contributions put him ahead of Osimhen and Arokodare, evidence of his outstanding early-season form.

Orban’s performances have included a brace against Kasimpasa and a hat-trick against Basaksehir. He also scored and provided an assist in the victory over Besiktas.

Interestingly, Amedspor have not lost any match in which Orban has scored or assisted.

His impact has coincided with an excellent start for the newly promoted side, who are second in the Turkish Super Lig behind champions Galatasaray.

If the Super Eagles forward maintains this level of productivity, the forward could become one of the standout Nigerian players of the 2026/27 campaign.
