Super Falcons coach Justin Madugu has named a 23-woman squad for Nigeria’s upcoming WAFCON 2026 preparatory friendlies against Senegal, Afrik-Foot reports.

The 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations is set to kick off in July, and all qualified teams are deep in preparation.

Nigeria are the defending champions of the competition, having claimed a tenth title last year in Morocco. However, they will be looking to add one more to their trophy cabinet.

The team has been inactive since March, drawing criticism from sections of the Nigerian media. But they are set to return to action next month with two friendly fixtures against the Teranga Lionesses of Senegal.

Ahead of the games, coach Madugu has announced a 23-woman squad heavily dominated by foreign-based stars.
