Official: Super Falcons star Nkor seeks fresh start after difficult Deportivo La Coruña spell

Published on by

Blessing Nkor has taken a decisive step to rebuild her career after a frustrating spell in Spain, completing a move to Belarusian side Dynamo Brest Women, Afrik-Foot reports.

The 22-year-old forward, who has been capped by Nigeria’s senior women’s team, joins the club on a short-term deal running until the end of the 2026 season. It is a move shaped as much by necessity as ambition, coming after a difficult period with Deportivo La Coruña Femenino.

Nkor’s time in Spain never truly got going. After arriving with promise, her progress was halted by injury, restricting her to just one appearance. For a player known for her pace and sharp finishing, it was a frustrating setback at a crucial stage of her development.

This transfer, therefore, represents an opportunity to reset. At Dynamo Brest, she is expected to play regularly and rediscover the rhythm that once made her one of the more exciting young Nigerian forwards emerging onto the scene.

Still early in her career, Nkor has already built a remarkably well-travelled football journey. From her beginnings in Nigeria with Ibom Angels and Sunshine Queens, she has moved across leagues in Tanzania, Turkey, Egypt, and Spain. Each step has brought experience, but also challenges, with her most recent spell proving the toughest so far.

Nkor: A fresh start in Belarus

Belarus now offers Nkor a different kind of platform. While it may not carry the same profile as Spain’s top flight, it provides something she urgently needs: minutes on the pitch and a chance to rebuild confidence.

Dynamo Brest are understood to value her direct style of play. Her speed, movement, and ability to stretch defences could make her a key figure in their attack as they look to strengthen their position in the Belarusian Women’s Premier League.

This move is an opportunity for Nkor to prove her resilience. Injuries can derail careers, especially for young players trying to establish themselves abroad. But a strong run in Belarus could quickly change the narrative, putting her back on track and even back into contention for more regular involvement with the Super Falcons.

She made her senior international debut in 2024 and remains a player with potential to grow into a more important role for Nigeria. Regular football at club level will be vital if she is to achieve that.
