Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has sealed a headline move to Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers, completing a transfer that smashes records at Racing Genk.
The 24-year-old departed Brussels early on Sunday to finalise a switch worth a reported €27 million, eclipsing the €25m fee that took Sander Berge to Sheffield United in 2020. That makes him the most expensive sale in Genk’s history.
Arokodare arrives at Molineux on a five-year contract, stepping into the biggest challenge of his career.

Tolu Arokodare follows familiar Super Eagles path
Genk’s ties with Nigerian footballers run deep, but this is the second time in two years they are sending a striker to England.
Paul Onuachu joined Southampton in January 2023 after plundering goals in Belgium, only to struggle in the Premier League. He scored just four times in 40 matches before Saints shipped him off.
Arokodare arrives with his own story. Last season, he finished as top scorer in the Jupiler Pro League with 21 goals in 40 games.
After two years with this club and amazing fans, it’s time for me to take the next step in my career. I want to take this opportunity to thank every single teammate, coach and supporter who has been with me on this journey and helped me while I’ve been here. Tall, quick to attack space, and sharp inside the box, he was the most reliable forward in Belgium and inevitably drew interest from across Europe. Napoli, AC Milan, Fulham and Burnley all asked questions, but Wolves pushed hardest and got their man.
In making the leap, Arokodare joins a distinguished line of Genk exports. Onuachu commanded €18m in 2023, while Wilfred Ndidi left for Leicester City in 2017 for €17.6m. Now, the Lagos-born forward carries both history and expectation on his shoulders.
