Top 5 clubs chasing Isak-like Nigerian prospect Zadok Yohanna

Published on by

Nigerian youngster Zadok Yohanna is already attracting serious interests across Europe ahead of the summer transfer window, Afrik-Foot reports.

The 18-year-old only joined AIK last summer, but he has already made an impressive start to life at the club and his early performances have quickly put him on the radar of several European heavyweights.

Yohanna, who has often been compared to Liverpool forward Alexander Isak, is known for his direct style of play and confidence in taking on defenders with his left foot and he has already netted four times and provided three assists across his last six matches.

AIK are reportedly willing to consider offers in the region of €20-25 million and despite that valuation for a player of his age, clubs have continued to monitor his development closely.

As the summer window draws closer, Afrik-Foot highlights five clubs that are strongly linked with the young Nigerian and could make a formal move.

1. Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund are one of three Bundesliga sides monitoring Zadok Yohanna closely according to recent reports from Germany and are believed to be keen on submitting a formal bid once the transfer window opens.

The German club are well known for developing young talent, making it an ideal environment for Yohanna, who is only 18, to grow without pressure.

Moving to Borussia Dortmund would also represent a major step forward in his career and could open up a pathway to a more bigger club in the near future.

2. RB Leipzig

RB Leipzig present another strong option if Yohanna decides to leave AIK this summer. As one of Germany’s top clubs and with a likely qualification for the UEFA Champions League on the horizon, they could offer the youngster an opportunity to display his talents at the top level.

Leipzig are also likely to lose Ivorian teenage sensation Yan Diomande, who has attracted strong interest from Liverpool as they look to replace Mohamed Salah, while Manchester United are also in the race for his signature.

If he eventually leaves, Yohanna could step in as a direct replacement, giving him a strong chance of getting regular playing time and like Diomande, impressing at Leipzig could set him up for an even bigger move in the future.

3. Bayer Leverkusen

Former Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen complete the trio of Bundesliga clubs showing serious interest in Yohanna.

The presence of fellow Nigerian Nathan Tella at the club should make settling in easier for the youngster if he decides to join in the summer.

Additionally, another Super Eagles international Victor Boniface is expected to return from his loan spell at Werder Bremen, which further makes Leverkusen an attractive destination for his development.

4. Chelsea

Premier League heavyweights Chelsea are also keeping close tabs on Yohanna and have sent scouts to watch him in Sweden in AIK’s recent games.

At just 18, he fits perfectly into Chelsea’s current transfer strategy of signing young, high-potential players as they look to build a strong team that can compete in the future. Moving to the Premier League would also represent a major step up in at this stage of his career.

5. Ajax Amsterdam

Ajax Amsterdam are another club showing strong interest and have also sent scouts to monitor Zadok Yohanna’s progress. The Dutch club could look to act quickly and make an early move to beat other suitors to his signature.

Ajax’s long-standing reputation for developing young players makes them an appealing option and Yohanna would likely be assured of regular playing time away from much spotlight.

Zadok Yohanna has enjoyed a remarkable rise and many have been impressed by how quickly he has adapted after only moving to Sweden in 2025, with interest across Europe continuing to grow in recent weeks.

While a move to the Premier League might come a bit too soon, the strong interest from Bundesliga clubs suggests that Germany could be his most likely destination this summer.
