​Trabzonspor vs Fenerbahce: Tedesco leans on defender who broke Osimhen’s bone to stop Paul Onuachu

Fenerbahce head coach Domenico Tedesco has tasked Slovakian defender Milan Škriniar with the responsibility of keeping Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu at bay, Afrik-Foot reports.

​Turkish Süper Lig heavyweights Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce are set to lock horns in a high-stakes, top-of-the-table clash this Saturday. The fixture carries immense significance: a victory for the Black Sea Storm would bring them within one point of Fenerbahce.

On the other hand, a win for the visitors would establish a seven-point cushion over Trabzonspor and potentially draw them level with league leaders Galatasaray, depending on the result of the Lions’ match against Eyüpspor.

​According to Turkish outlet Fotomac, Tedesco has been specifically preparing Milan Škriniar for the physical battle against Onuachu.

​Škriniar is a name many Nigerian fans remember vividly; he was the defender involved in the 2021 collision that left Victor Osimhen with a fractured cheekbone and eye socket. That incident, which occurred during an Inter Milan vs. Napoli clash, required complex surgery and led to Osimhen’s now-iconic protective mask.

​Heading into Saturday, Tedesco has reportedly challenged Škriniar to bring that same defensive intensity to stop Onuachu.

While the Fenerbahce defender will use every tactical tool at his disposal to shackle the giant striker, the focus remains on a fair but firm physical contest.

​The Yellow Canaries have dominated this rivalry recently, winning all four of their previous meetings.
