Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has stated that his national teammate Victor Osimhen is obsessed with winning and will do everything possible to ensure he is on the victorious side, Afrik-Foot reports.
Throughout his career, Osimhen has been known for his immense hunger. Although, like most strikers, he scores goals—even in the tightest of situations—he is known for doing much more than just finding the net.
The 27-year-old striker presses, defends, and even coaches his own teammates on the pitch. It is this relentless work rate that sets him apart from others.

With the Super Eagles, he has been consistently prolific, scoring 35 goals in 52 caps for Nigeria. With plenty of years ahead of him, he is now just two goals behind Nigeria’s all-time record goalscorer, Rashidi Yekini.
Fulham star Iwobi has played alongside Osimhen for most of the striker’s international career. In a recent interview, he admitted that the Galatasaray star is one of the most unique players he has ever seen.
Iwobi revealed that Osimhen puts so much effort into his football that he occasionally sustains injuries even during training. On the pitch, he will do everything humanly possible—including cheating—to win.

“Cool, cool guy. Every time in training, he’s always getting hurt because he’s got to put his leg or his head into something that he shouldn’t. He’s always been fighting,” Iwobi said on the Beast Mode On Podacst.
“I’m not surprised he is where he is right now. Some would say he’s not polished, he’s a bit raw, but Victor will create five chances a game for himself, just through hard work and running.
“He doesn’t care who you are. He doesn’t care if you’re [Virgil] van Dijk or a guy from non-league—no disrespect to non-league—he will fight. He will treat a Champions League game as if he’s playing with his brethren.
“He always wants to win, and that mentality is sick. It’s sick. Sometimes it can be over the top because in training, he wants to fight to make sure he’s winning. Sometimes he even cheats, and he knows he’s cheating just to win. But it’s just a sick mentality.”
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid on Alert Amid Alex Iwobi’s Praise for Victor Osimhen

Victor Osimhen is currently one of the best strikers in the world; it is no wonder Galatasaray paid €70 million to acquire his services from Napoli last summer and placed him on a monstrous salary.
But even though he only moved to Turkey a few months ago, Osimhen has continued to attract interest from Europe’s elite.
Over the last few months, Spanish giants Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have emerged as potential destinations. Both clubs could undergo a restructuring of their attacking departments this summer, and Osimhen has been identified as a primary option.
However, a transfer would likely cost these clubs in excess of €100 million, which represents a significant financial hurdle at the moment.

Nevertheless, with accounts like the one Iwobi has provided, these clubs will undoubtedly be motivated to try and strike a deal.
Most clubs desire committed, gifted, and hungry players, and Osimhen fits that bill perfectly. While he has often expressed his love for Galatasaray, he is clearly targeting greatness—something clubs like Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are well-positioned to help him achieve.
