Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk will be counting on Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen to cause problems for Fenerbahce when the two Istanbul rivals meet in the derby on Monday night.
Osimhen will be looking to continue his fine form this season as Galatasaray aim to strengthen their position at the top of the standings.
The 27-year-old has already scored seven goals and provided three assists across all competitions, including six goals in the Süper Lig this season.
He will be hoping to add to his tally against Fenerbahce and score his first league goal since returning from an injury problem that sidelined him for several weeks earlier in the campaign.

Galatasaray will be targeting another victory to boost their points tally, while Osimhen will be eager to deliver a strong performance in one of the biggest games of the season. Buruk will also hope the Nigerian striker can reproduce the kind of performance he delivered against Fenerbahce last season.
2 Victor Osimhen qualities Buruk can exploit against Fenerbahce
According to Hürriyet, Buruk will be looking to use Victor Osimhen’s strengths in different ways to help Galatasaray secure victory against Fenerbahce.
1. Osimhen’s pace will be useful against Fenerbahce’s defence
One of the qualities Buruk could look to exploit is Osimhen’s pace, which could prove important against Fenerbahce’s defence.
The Nigerian striker’s speed, combined with the movement of Galatasaray’s other attackers, could create problems for their city rivals. Yunus Akgün, Barış Alper Yılmaz and Leroy Sané are also known for their pace and ability to threaten opposition defences.

The combination of speed, power and dynamism among these attackers could give Galatasaray several ways to stretch Fenerbahce’s defensive line.
Osimhen could use his pace to run into spaces behind the defence, especially when Galatasaray win possession and launch quick attacks. His ability to make runs beyond the defenders could also create room for his teammates to exploit.
If Fenerbahce push forward and leave spaces at the back, Buruk could encourage his attackers to take advantage of those openings, with Osimhen’s movement and finishing providing a direct threat in front of goal.
2. Osimhen’s pressing from the front
Another quality Buruk could rely on is Osimhen’s ability to press opposition defenders from the front.
Galatasaray will want to play aggressively against Fenerbahce, and the Nigerian striker’s work rate could be important in helping the team win possession higher up the pitch.
Osimhen is capable of putting pressure on defenders and goalkeepers, forcing them to make hurried decisions when attempting to play the ball out from the back. His pressing could disrupt Fenerbahce’s build-up and make it difficult for them to establish control of the game.

His ability to close down opponents could also help Galatasaray recover possession in dangerous areas and create scoring opportunities before the opposition can reorganise defensively.
Osimhen will be looking to add to his season’s tally when Galatasaray welcome Fenerbahce to RAMS Park on Monday, as they aim to return to the top of the Super Lig standings.
