Victor Osimhen: Spalletti losing sleep over Super Eagles star reunion

Published on by

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is giving the Juventus manager sleepless nights ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash against Galatasaray on Tuesday, Afrik-Foot reports.

Juventus and Galatasaray will lock horns twice over the next two weeks to battle for a ticket to the UEFA Champions League round of 16.

The game promises plenty of excitement due to the inherent talent in both teams and their respective setups.

Osimhen is undoubtedly one of the players to watch. Interestingly, he will be reuniting with his former Napoli coach, Luciano Spalletti.

Both created magic in Serie A during the 2022/23 season when they won the Scudetto with Napoli. During that campaign, Osimhen struck up a deadly partnership with now-PSG star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia that set the whole league ablaze. That remains his joint-best scoring campaign in a league season.

However, that was their last campaign together, as Spalletti left immediately after winning the title.

Now, Osimhen is set to face his former boss for this time. But this time, they will be foes.

If any coach knows firsthand the havoc Victor Osimhen can wreak, it is Spalletti. According to Turkish football outlet Skorer, Spalletti is having sleepless nights as he thinks of how to neutralize the Nigerian’s impact.

The Super Eagles star is undoubtedly Galatasaray’s best player and a handful for any defense. Silencing him would likely mean the Cimbom find little joy in the attack.

While Juventus boasts decent defenders like Bremer and Lloyd Kelly, their recent form does not exactly inspire confidence that they can keep Osimhen at bay.

In front of his home fans, the 27-year-old striker will be motivated to deliver a masterclass. The Juventus defenders will certainly have to work hard for every penny of their wages.
