“100 million not enough for Victor Osimhen” – Galatasaray president warns Barcelona, Arsenal, others

Published on by

Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek has warned Victor Osimhen’s suitors that the club won’t budge even if they receive an offer in the region of €100 million, Afrik-Foot reports.

Osimhen has been the subject of intense transfer speculation in recent months, despite having just completed a €75 million move from Napoli to Galatasaray last summer.

Despite his injury struggles, he has been brilliant for the Cimbom since his arrival, contributing 22 goals and eight assists in 33 appearances.

Consequently, the Nigerian striker has been linked with several top European clubs over the last few months.

Barcelona, Arsenal, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich have all been touted as potential destinations, as each of these teams is actively seeking attacking reinforcements.

Although the 27-year-old marksman has repeatedly stated that he loves the atmosphere and the fans at Galatasaray, the belief persists that a player of his calibre will eventually look to join a bigger club in one of the top five leagues.

Dursun Ozbek Sends Clear Victor Osimhen

As speculation surrounding Victor Osimhen’s future lingers, Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek has made it clear that the club values the striker highly, warning that any interested party will have to break the bank.

He made the statement during the club’s Süper Lig title celebrations at RAMS Park on Friday.

”How much would Osimhen be worth if we put him up for sale now? I wouldn’t sell him for €100 million—why would I?” Özbek said.

“Osimhen encouraged us. He did his part, both in terms of prestige and performance. It’s a good thing we signed him.”

For the clubs currently linked with Osimhen, securing his signature will be a highly complicated affair. Aside from the massive transfer fee the Super Eagles star will command, his wages present another significant hurdle.

Osimhen currently earns around €21 million annually (including wages and image rights). A package like that would automatically make him one of the highest earners at almost any club in the world.

Also, because the former Lille forward still has three years left on his contract, there is the likelihood that he will remain in Istanbul for at least one more season.
