Victor Osimhen’s record vs Spanish clubs: Wins, losses, & all goals

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is one of Nigeria’s most prominent players, and that has seen him rub shoulders with some of the best players in the game, a lot of whom, have come from Spain.

He has faced Spanish opposition across the UEFA Champions League and Europa League, with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Valencia, Real Sociedad and Atlético Madrid among the clubs he has encountered.

These meetings have come across his games for Lille, Napoli, and now Galatasaray. And since he is still performing at the top level and playing elite football, there is a good chance that he will face more teams from Spain.

Osimhen has played ten matches against Spanish opposition, and his record currently stands at one win, four draws and five defeats, with two goals scored.

Victor Osimhen’s Results Against Spanish Clubs

1. Lille 1-1 Valencia — October 23, 2019

Osimhen started Lille’s Champions League group-stage match against Valencia but failed to score or provide an assist. Lille rescued a point through Jonathan Ikoné’s late equaliser after Denis Cheryshev had put Valencia ahead earlier. Osimhen played the entire 90 minutes in that game.

2. Valencia 4-1 Lille — November 5, 2019

Victor Osimhen scored Lille’s only goal in their heavy defeat at the Mestalla, putting the French side ahead in the 25th minute. Valencia responded with four second-half goals to complete the turnaround.

Dani Parejo, Ferran Torres, Adama Soumaoro, and Geoffrey Kondogbia scored the goals to give their side the win.

3. Real Sociedad 0-1 Napoli — October 29, 2020

Osimhen came off the bench in the 61st minute during Napoli’s Europa League group-stage meeting with Real Sociedad. However, his appearance ended badly when he was sent off in stoppage time.

Nonetheless, Napoli held on to win the game, courtesy of a Matteo Politano strike. That was Osimhen’s first victory against a Spanish club.

4. Barcelona 1-1 Napoli — February 17, 2022

Victor Osimhen started Napoli’s Europa League knockout play-off first leg at Camp Nou but did not score or register an assist. He had just one shot and was caught offside three times. He played 80 minutes before getting replaced with Dries Mertens.

The draw left the tie finely balanced ahead of the return fixture in Naples.

5. Napoli 2-4 Barcelona — February 24, 2022

Osimhen started the second leg as Napoli attempted to win the tie at home in Naples. He did not score, but he was fouled for Napoli’s penalty as the Italian side tried to stay in contention.

Barcelona won 4-2 on the night and advanced 5-3 on aggregate, eliminating Napoli from the competition. Osimhen played 74 minutes in that fixture, but managed just one shot and 20 touches.

6. Napoli 2-3 Real Madrid — October 3, 2023

Osimhen played the full 90 minutes against Real Madrid in the Champions League group stage but could not find the net despite having four goal attempts.

Napoli scored twice, yet Madrid claimed victory in a five-goal contest. Osimhen was a constant presence in the attack and caused a lot of problems for Antonio Rudiger. But he still ended on the losing side.

7. Real Madrid 4-2 Napoli — November 29, 2023

Osimhen started the first half before he replaced Giovanni Simeone at the halftime break. He failed to score as Madrid won again, completing a group-stage double over Napoli.

The two matches against Madrid remain among the most difficult fixtures in his record against Spanish opposition for Osimhen. In this one, he did not even get a shot off.

8. Napoli 1-1 Barcelona — February 21, 2024

Osimhen scored his second goal against a Spanish club when Napoli hosted Barcelona in the Champions League round of 16.

After Robert Lewandowski gave Barcelona the lead, Osimhen equalised in the 75th minute to secure a draw for Napoli. He was taken off just two minutes after his goal.

The goal was a significant moment in the tie, although Napoli could not build on it in the return leg.

9. Barcelona 3-1 Napoli — March 12, 2024

Osimhen started the return fixture but failed to score as Barcelona won 3-1 to progress to the quarter-finals. It was touch outing for the Super Eagles star as he was not given any breathing space.

Napoli’s elimination was just another disappointing European night against Spanish opposition for the striker.

10. Galatasaray 1-1 Atlético Madrid — January 21, 2026

Osimhen played the full 90 minutes in Galatasaray’s Champions League league-phase meeting with Atlético Madrid.

Atlético took an early lead through Giuliano Simeone before Marcos Llorente’s own goal levelled the score. Osimhen did not score, but he remained involved in Galatasaray’s late attempts to find a winner, including setting up a late opportunity for Gabriel Sara that was saved by Jan Oblak.

Which Spanish club has Osimhen scored against?

Osimhen has scored against Valencia and Barcelona, registering one goal against each club. His goal against Valencia came during Lille’s 4-1 defeat in November 2019, while his Barcelona goal helped Napoli secure a 1-1 draw in February 2024.

He has not scored against Real Madrid, Real Sociedad or Atlético Madrid.

His overall record just shows the difficulty of facing Spanish opposition in European competition. Although Osimhen has produced decisive moments, including his goals against Valencia and Barcelona, his teams have won only once in 10 meetings.

His January 2026 draw with Atlético Madrid extended that record, leaving the Nigerian striker with two goals and five defeats against Spanish clubs across the Champions League and Europa League.
