Premier League club West Ham have emerged as one of the sides most keen to secure the services of Union Saint-Gilloise striker Promise David, Afrik-Foot reports.
The 24-year-old forward has enjoyed an excellent season in Belgium, scoring regularly and helping Union SG maintain their rise among Europe’s emerging clubs.
SportsBoom reports that West Ham face competition from Everton, Leeds United, Lille OSC, and Italian Serie A champions Napoli.
West Ham’s interest reflects their need for greater attacking efficiency. Despite recruiting new forwards during the winter window, goals have remained difficult to find as the club continues its fight for Premier League survival.

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo is understood to admire David’s physical presence and mobility, qualities he believes could suit English football.
Standing at 6ft 5in, David combines strength with sharp finishing ability. His performances across domestic and European competitions have lifted his estimated market value to around €20 million. Although Union Saint-Gilloise recently tied him to a long-term contract running until 2029, reports indicate a mutual understanding that the striker could leave if a suitable offer arrives.

David: West Ham target with Nigerian roots
Born in Canada to Nigerian parents, David previously represented the former African champions at under-23 level before making a significant international decision.
After discussions with the Nigerian Football Federation, the striker chose to commit his senior international future to Canada.

FIFA approved his nationality switch in early 2025, and he quickly made an impact, scoring on his senior debut for the Canadian national team later that year. He has since registered three goals in eight appearances.
His rise at Union Saint-Gilloise has mirrored his international progress. Since arriving from Estonian side Kalju FC in 2024, David has helped the Belgian club win both the Belgian Super Cup and the league title, ending a remarkable 90-year wait for domestic glory. His goals in key matches, including European fixtures against top opposition, have strengthened his reputation as one of the most exciting forwards in Belgium.
