Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi delivered a commanding performance for Leicester City in their hard-fought 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur at the King Power Stadium on Monday night.

The result was crucial for Leicester, as they started their campaign in the Premier League after earning promotion.

Tottenham took the lead through Pedro Porro in the 29th minute, but Leicester responded through veteran striker Jamie Vardy, who netted his 137th Premier League goal in the 57th minute.

The 27-year-old was immense in his defensive duties, notably making a crucial goal-line clearance early in the game to deny Rodrigo Bentancur and keep Leicester in the contest during Tottenham's initial onslaught.

Ndidi's awareness and positioning were vital in shielding the back four and breaking up Tottenham's attacks.

On the ball, Ndidi was efficient, completing 27 of his 35 passes with a 77 percent success rate. He was also involved in Leicester's equalizer, initiating the play that led to Vardy's goal with a well-placed pass to Victor Kristiansen down the left flank.

Ndidi's offensive contributions included one shot on target and another off target, showcasing his willingness to support the attack. He also demonstrated his defensive resilience by making three clearances and blocking two shots.

Aerially, Ndidi was unbeatable, winning all his duels, and he was successful in four of the eight tackles he attempted.

From his defensive midfield position, Ndidi had 58 touches on the ball, underscoring his involvement and influence throughout the full 90 minutes.

Wilfred Ndidi's all-around performance will surely gladden Leicester City boss Steve Cooper as his team try to establish their place in the English Premier League.
