Abdeslam Ouaddou fires warning to Orlando Pirates’ rivals – ‘We have a very important…’

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is already looking forward to the second part of the season as he eyes further success with the Buccaneers.

Ouaddou led his team to a third trophy so far this season, when they won the Carling Black Label Cup following a 2-0 victory over a Carling All Stars team, coached by Golden Arrows boss Manqoba Mngqithi at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

Pirates became the first team to claim both the Carling Knockout and Black Label Cup, adding the two trophies to the MTN8 crown they won early in the season.

Ouaddou says the victory did not surprise him as his side have shown character, quality and hunger throughout the season and does not want them to put their foot off the pedal.

“I think we have to give credit to our player for sure, to our club, management, staff, technical staff. They are doing a wonderful job so it’s a very good gift for our fans, club. It’s fantastic,” Ouaddou told SuperSport TV after watching Sifiso Luthuli and Boitumelo Radiopane score in the second half to lead his side to victory.

“But I’m not surprised because it’s a club that has ambition who knows what they want and we’re working for them.”

The former Marumo Gallants coach then fired a warning not just to his players but rival teams, saying he expects much more in the second half of the season where two more trophies will be contested.

What message has Bucs coach sent to rivals?

Pirates are top of the PSL table and hoping to end their 13-year wait for a league title while they will also be looking to reclaim the Nedbank Cup after losing last season’s final to bitter rivals Kaizer Chiefs.

“So, we keep working because we have a very important second part of the season, we going to celebrate this trophy but we don’t have to forget this part in one corner of our head that the second part of the season will be the most difficult but most interesting as well,” added Ouaddou.

“So, my head is already for the next part of the season, I will celebrate with the guys but I will think for the second part of the season.”
