In the January transfer window, Kaizer Chiefs added three experienced players to bolster their squad.
Bafana Bafana international Thabo Cele was signed alongside attackers Tashreeq Morris, and Glody Lilepo. The trio are expected to help Amakhosi finish in the top positions on the Premier Soccer League table.
However, the main aim is for the team to end the current trophy drought that has lasted 10 years. The Soweto giants' hopes are in the Nedbank Cup where they are in the quarter-final, scheduled to play unpredictable Stellenbosch.
The Glamour Boys legend Brian Baloyi is not convinced the new players, especially Morris, has what it takes to help Nasreddine Nabi in his bid to rebuild the team.
‘They are adjusting well, but…'

“I’m not sure about [Tashreeq] Morris, I’m still not convinced yet. Of all the [January] signings, Morris is the downfall,” he opened up to FARPost.
“I haven’t seen enough that I can say he’s a good signing for Chiefs. But hopefully, he can turn around the corner and start scoring; at least he’s getting game time. So far, other new players have been adjusting well to the team. Cele is playing well in the midfield, showing signs that he’s a good signing for Chiefs.
“Lilepo, as well. In the attack, he brought something to the team. He’s scoring goals and creating opportunities for the team,” Baloyi concluded.
On Saturday, Chiefs will be at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium to play the defending Premier Soccer League champions Mamelodi Sundowns. Masandawana have won the last two meetings – across all competitions, played in the ongoing campaign.
