South Africa's Cameron Cox and Tunisia's Chedli Mabrouki have been appointed by FIFA as Goalkeepers' Experts for the African continent.
Cox, renowned for his long tenure as Banyana Banyana's goalkeeper coach, will take responsibility for the COSAFA region and English-speaking countries. Mabrouki will contribute his expertise to French-Arabic speaking nations.
The newly formed expert duo recently traveled to FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, as guests of the organisation.
Coach Cox will receive advanced training to deliver FIFA-standard workshops. His role will involve leading these workshops for goalkeeper coaches across the continent and globally.

FIFA SENIOR GK EXPERT ON APPOINTMENT OF COX & MABROUKI
“It is a great privilege to introduce a seasoned goalkeeper coach and qualified CAF instructor from South Africa as a FIFA Goalkeeper Expert and this will benefit the country and the continent at large. Cameron is one of the talented goalkeeper coaches but also ticks all the boxes. He has all the quality qualificationsrequired for FIFA and has really impressed over the years,” said Alejandro Heredia, Argentinean born, South African-based FIFA Senior Goalkeeper Expert as quoted by Centre Circle.
“I introduced him recently to FIFA officials and he did very well when asked to deliver a presentation on high level Goalkeeping coaching elements. Cameron will eventually replace me as I have been doing this for 15 years and I need to groom him further. He has been doing really well locally and internationally, and it is one of the reasons why he was invited to FIFA’s Headquarters in Zurich. I believe he can assist goalkeeping coaches in South Africa tremendously.”
Meanwhile, according to Centre Circle, coach Cox will continue providing his services to Banyana Banyana as the team looks to defend the WAFCON title this year.
Cox boasts a full range of goalkeeper coaching qualifications, encompassing a CAF A Licence, SAFA Level 3 (Pro Licence), and instructor roles with SAFA, CAF, and FIFA.
