Bafana Bafana defender Siyabonga Ngezana has revealed head coach Hugo Broos’s strong warning to the team ahead of their vital FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho.
Broos, according to Ngezana, has cautioned the players against underestimating Likuena, emphasizing the need to show their opponents full respect.
The crucial match is scheduled for Friday, September 5, at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein. Both teams are seeking a win to boost their qualifying campaigns.
Broos and his side are aiming to secure another victory over Lesotho, having already beaten them 2-0 in the first round back in March. Despite that previous win, the coach's message is clear: the team must remain focused and disciplined.
Ngezana’s comments highlight Broos's belief that complacency could be their biggest enemy.
This disciplined approach is vital for the team as they prepare for a difficult match. They understand that a spot in the World Cup is on the line and that every point matters.

‘WE DON’T HAVE TO UNDERESTIMATE OUR OPPONENTS’
“Yeah, I agree with the coach, we don’t have to underestimate our opponents, we need to respect them,” said Ngezana.
“We need to respect them and show on the pitch. I think Lesotho have a great squad and familiar faces that play in the PSL.
“And it won’t just be a walk in the park. They have the experience of PSL, which is most of our players play in this league, so it’s gonna be a competitive game.
“We need to bring our A game and I have so much confidence in the squad because the players we have, have proven before that we can compete.”
